Fire Fox
It´s Choppertime, ...
...you could expect
that when you look around and watch the custom scene. Long neglected a few kept the “low seat – high grip” lifestyle alive. Most of them on old rigid bikes ignored and laughed at by “modern” Harley drivers. But they are back!!!Like the wide leged jeans and the PT Cruiser the Chopper is a revival a la Retro.
For a long time I wanted to build a chopper but our clients always desired the low and wide build bikes from which the Zero Cool program started. But as I started with choppers years ago it never lft the back of my head. At our 10th Lottermann anniversary party I met a customer who wanted a chopper. We agreed after a few drinks on how the bike has to look like. I was trusted and had a free hand to build as I wanted as long as it’s “black with flames” said the customer. That’s where the Zero Cool chopper was born. We added immediately the frame to our line of products.
High neck, long frame, low seating position and a monstrous rear wheel - that’s what it needs. Dimension as a skyscraper with 8” higher neck, 6” stretch and 40° neckrake with a 14” over Fat Glide fork with 6° rake in itself combined with a 4” front wheel and a sleek 110 tire. What looks sleek from the front can appear completely different from the rear view, as our chopper is. A huge 10” rim with a 250 tire makes even the biggest behind of any passenger look slim. As it is build for cruising and not for racing it is powered by a 88” S&S engine combined with a Dyna 2000i ingnition. The ignited gases are routed through the enormous and good sounding Zero Cool exhaust.
Only the best was the motto for all other used parts on this project bike. Polished floating brake discs in combination with 4 piston calipers will ensure a certain stop. A polished engine and polished transmission seemed natural and the hidden wiring in the handlebar too. The paint job was one of the few conventional products, black with silver flames- chopperlike. The first roll-out to the TÜV test was no problem whatsoever giving the new owner a good feeling while riding his new chopper through northern germany. Legal and extraordinary!!!
The aera of the high handlebars was not that bad after all as long as we do not have to wear this wide leged jeans, colorful shirts and white shoes again…..!!!
