Zero Cool
Following the introduction in 1999 of the Lottermann Zero Cool Stage One series of bikes, it was time to construct a new bike.
The Zero Cool® Stage Two / Five is a further development of the first bike, which has been completely stripped & modified. It wasn’t built for the living room or a trailer, but for riding. Plus it looks really hot. Although Zero Cool® would appear to mean un-cool, the correct interpretation is zero compromising in terms of quality & functionality. I think we all know what cool means & what could be cooler than riding such a beast through the countryside?
The Zero Cool® is built around the Zero Cool® frame, of which there are now 16 versions available in varying lengths & heights. A computer programme was used to calculate the correct frame dimensions for the rider, who’s not exactly a dwarf, to determine the length & other “ingredients” required. The fact that all the frames are rated up to 100 KW & have TüV Approval, is as natural for us in Soltau as TüV Approval is for the rest of our Zero Cool® products.
Nothing was too good for this shining red beauty, as you can see with the engine amongst other things. As the boss himself was going to be riding this bike, we dug a bit deeper into our box of tricks & installed a 1750cc Twin Cam® power plant from G&R into the frame. It’s polished, fitted with a 45 Mikuni, modified camshaft & other components for that extra portion of power. He doesn’t need to use the hidden horn to announce he’s on his way to the ice cream parlor, he just has to give the throttle grip a good twist. The roar from the snaking Zero Cool® exhaust is enough to get all the waitresses outside. But before enjoying a cappuccino, we have some braking to do, supplied by Zero Cool® four piston calipers, with excellent feel, the pads biting into the same design brake discs. If you have more then just a coffee and tub of ice cream, you’ll still have a comfortable ride because the seat has a sprung core and is custom matched to the frame and rider so even long distances are a pleasure.
Should you have a pillion passenger to ride with you, that’s no problem. Firstly the rear is rated for 2 people & secondly the 210 rubber on the 7.5" wide Zero Cool® rim is so grippy that you can still fly through the bends with ease.
Because the Stage Two / Five has to be XXL for this rider, the instruments are set into the 6" stretched tank, two coils fitted which provide the spark for the 98 octane juice and PM forward controls are fitted on special mountings which give 4" extension. The electrics are completely hidden inside the frame and lighting is provided at the front by a headlight fitted to the Freestyle triple trees, the rear uses a Matrix LED rearlight. Before going for paint the frame received a new front spoiler, modified oil tank and every single weld is smoothed down until they are invisible. After the base coat was applied by Harro, the painted parts went to Airworxx Attack, where Danny was free to weave his magic. In addition to the subtle blend of colors there are
approximately 200 Zero Cool® logos embedded in the paintwork, which are only visible when the light hits them from certain angles.
If all that is still un-cool, where on earth does cool begin? With Zero Cool®?
