Hardrock 300
For the real Hardrockers amongst us...
The magic number is 300.
Hardrock instead of soft pop music
A 200 rear tire was regarded as sensational in the USA while a 280 tire was almost common here and our Custom bikes were ready for that fat rubber. It doesn't always make sense to go one better but when a bike comes from the factory with a 240 tire as standard there's always room for a little bit more. There's not too much to argue about regarding the rear end of the Rocker® C, you've either got good taste or not, so we didn't just design a new rear end but transformed the Rocker® into a real Hardrocker.
Fortunately the price of scrap metal has gone up again which is great because that's precisely where the seat, front & rear fenders from the Rocker® C end up. We designed a Hardrock swing arm for this custom which retains the look of the original. The heart of the Hardrock 300 is the standard rear wheel that's been widened by us out to 10" x 18" and it also means that the original matching front wheel can be retained. The modification kit for the 300 rear tire is designed for un-compromised rideability.
Using our Offset Kit, especially designed for the Rocker®, the primary unit is offset by 18mm and, in combination with an original H-D belt just 20mm wide, allows the rear wheel to run absolutely centrally. This ensures that the transmission remains in it's factory position and the minimal primary offset avoids the leftward bias which affects many wide tired bikes. The Hardrock XXL rear fender, also available for standard tire equipped bikes, hugs the wheel tightly. A special custom fitted leather seat flows into it transforming the bike and giving it a real custom look.
The bike receives a further, radical transformation with the fitment of the Z- Ape combined with new Climax Controls. To ensure a clean look and to eliminate the mass of gas cables and wiring we've routed them internally within the Z-Handlebars. The clutch is converted to hydraulic operation and again the lines run inside the bars. New risers in Iron Cross design to match the footpegs have been selected along with a set of Rebuffini mirrors and naturally Kellermann indicators with specially manufactured mountings. Hardrock would be only half as good if it was quiet so our TüV Approved adjustable exhaust system in parallel or 22° upswept versions provides the hard core music for the Rocker®. Fine tuning is taken care of by a Forcewinder air filter, braided steel lines, Kellermann indicators and OMP / Zero Cool footpegs. The handlebars form the second stage of modification to this bike and shows that you can also achieve your custom bike dreams step by step.
